The Cloud Data Lead’s role will be to promote the available Cloud Data Platform capabilities and expertise to business unit leaders and educate them in leveraging these capabilities in achieving their business goals. You will be responsible for architecting, creating and maintaining Nilfisk’s Cloud Data platforms with primary responsibility of leading Data Engineers, Data Scientists and Data Analysts on how to work on the Cloud Data platform. To assist you in being the bridge between technology and business people, you will use strong communication, analysis and design skills to gather business requirements to designing state-of-the-art data-driven solutions that solve the business needs.


Your primary tasks and areas of responsibility:


  • Analyze business and technical requirements
  • Act as Technology Lead on Nilfisk Data platform & solutions
  • Responsible for review/quality and documentation on data platform deliverables
  • Responsible for the quality of data platforms solutions
  • Provide direction in terms of solution architecture, designs and governance for the development of the solutions & platforms
  • Review technical deliverables from Data Engineers
  • Specify and implement Data platform solutions



The ideal candidate is expected to have a relevant technical education at BA or MA level, but experience from a similar role is more important. You have five years or more of work experience in data management disciplines including data integration, modeling, optimization and data quality, and/or other areas directly relevant to data engineering responsibilities and tasks. A minimum of three years of experience working in cross-functional teams and collaborating with business stakeholders in support of multi-departmental data management and analytics initiatives. Furthermore, you have good judgment, a sense of urgency and have demonstrated commitment to high standards of ethics, regulatory compliance, customer service and business integrity.


Additionally, in order to be successful in the job it is key that you possess the following competencies:


  • Extensive experience with advanced analytics tools for scripting languages such as R, Python, Java, C++, Scala, others.
  • Strong ability to design, build and manage data pipelines for data structures encompassing data transformation, data models, schemas, metadata and workload management.
  • The ability to work with both IT and business in integrating analytics and data science output into business processes and workflows.
  • Extensive experience with popular database programming languages including SQL, PL/SQL, others for relational databases and certifications on upcoming NoSQL/Hadoop oriented databases like CosmosDB, Cassandra, others for nonrelational databases.
  • Extensive experience working with Cloud Data services such as DataLakes, Databricks, Spark, etcetera.
  • Experience in working with large, heterogeneous datasets in building and optimizing data pipelines, Daat, pipeline architectures and integrated datasets using traditional data integration technologies. These should include ETL/ELT, data replication/CDC, message-oriented data movement, API design and access and upcoming data.
  • Basic understanding of popular open-source and commercial data science platforms such as Python, R, KNIME, Alteryx, others is a strong plus but not required/compulsory.
  • Adept in agile methodologies and capable of applying DevOps and increasingly DataOps principles to data pipelines to improve the communication, integration, reuse and automation of data flows between data managers and consumers across an organization.
  • Enterprise – as well as platform creation experience.
