Job description

e-conomic is a successful software company, and one of the first true SaaS companies in Denmark, providing the leading online accounting platform in the market. The company was acquired by Visma Software in 2015, and Visma e-conomic is now facing new interesting challenges in the market as they are expanding the product line to support even more functions, incorporating machine learning technologies and trying to automate even more trivial processes in the finance and accounting department.

 

Visma e-conomic is seeking an experienced CTO who can take the company to the next level in terms of platform, processes, tools and technology. The e-conomic solution is built on the Microsoft platform and uses different front-end technologies as well. The development team works with continuous integration, DevOps and other best practices and always seeks to optimize processes.

 

The span of control for the CTO is significant. You will set the direction in terms of architecture and technical roadmaps, but you will also be the direct manager for the Platform team and the DevOps team, as well as a mentor for different feature development teams. Furthermore, the CTO will work closely together with top management in Visma e-conomic to keep the company on track according to strategy and new opportunities.

 

A major current project is the implementation of database sharding, to the extreme of making each customer run on a separate database. This will make the platform scale even better and make Azure a central part of the platform going forward.

 

Finally, the CTO should be a light tower in the marketspace, securing a high-quality product and creating awareness in the relevant development communities.

 

Your primary tasks and areas of responsibility:

 

  • Lead and motivate the teams
  • Participate in technology and architecture discussions
  • Secure high quality of the product
  • Participate in creating roadmaps for the product in close cooperation with top management and the Chief Architect

 

 

Required skills and experience

The ideal candidate is expected to have a higher technical education, but there are several means of entry to the job, and relevant experience has precedence. You have experience from another SaaS company and are interested in setting the direction and influencing tools and technologies.

 

Furthermore, it is expected that you have:

 

  • A solid technical understanding
  • At least three years of experience as a technical leader
  • Great people skills
  • The ability to grow and develop

Company description

Visma e-conomic resides on Christianshavn in central Copenhagen. The company builds and designs the cloud-based accounting system e-conomic that helps more than 100,000 companies run their business, the electronic invoicing solution Sproom with 40,000+ customers, as well as services like machine learning for many other business products in other Visma units. They are 170 employees from 20+ nationalities.

 

The development department consists of 50+ people, including developers, Product Owners, QA engineers and UX designers, working with technologies like C#, Node.js, React, MS-SQL, Swift and MongoDB.

 

Visma e-conomic serves more than 50 million requests a day, pushes to production several times a week, believes strongly in automation, and is driven by a desire to measure and monitor to constantly improve the product.
